KENNEBUNK - Marketing strategists Doug Spurling of Spurling Fitness and Maureen Flaherty of Kennebunk Savings will lead Marketing Makeover, a practical, hands-on marketing workshop as a way to elevate local businesses to the next level, on Wednesday, March 3, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. 

In the three-hour session, live and in person from the new Infinity Center at Spurling Fitness in Kennebunk, or remotely via Zoom, Marketing Makeover will cover: Finding your market/client/audience; Defining your why vs. your what;  Your message – what you want/need to say; Defining you voice – how you should sound; Spreading your Message - tune your channels; Creating offers that stick; and creating a plan for the next 90 days

Attendees will walk away with handouts and a practical customized marketing plan to help their business stand out in 2021. Free breakfast will be provided by breakfast sponsor Mornings in Paris; pickup available for remote guests.

Flaherty is a passionate marketing executive who loves helping people and organizations bring their brands to life. Her career path has led her to a variety of roles, including a founding executive for an influential digital marketing firm in Portland, Ore., a senior marketing executive for businesses within the Mars, Inc. and IDEXX umbrellas, and an urban design and landscape architect in the London office of a global design, architecture, engineering and planning firm. During her years working as an agency executive, she developed branding and marketing strategy for some of the globe's top consumer brands. In her most recent role as Chief Marketing Officer for Kennebunk Savings, she has been a change agent bringing a fresh direction for the bank's branding, marketing, social media, public relations and communications efforts. This year, she is expanding into a new role at Kennebunk Savings as Executive Vice President, Chief Marketing and Customer Experience Officer. She will oversee the strategic direction of the bank's brand as well as the expansion of its customer-centric approach to customer delivery through its network of 17 branches in York County and Seacoast New Hampshire.

Doug Spurling is the owner and visionary at Spurling Fitness, a training gym in Kennebunk, with over 350 clients and a full-time team of nine. In addition to leading the team at the gym, Spurling spends his time coaching other health and hospitality brands on how to run better businesses using the 4 Pillars of Business and his "One Percent Better" approach.
